State and Country Fair - state and country fair is the heightened event of the research and writing process of the state report. The students arrive dressed in attire representing their state; each student provides a sampling of food that comes from their state.

Science - students participate in extensive hands-on labs and science experiments; they utilize microscopes in labs and take part in dissections.

Beach Trip - a fun-filled day trip to Newport, Oregon. They visit the Oregon State University's Hatfield Marine Science Center where they participate in a variety of hands-on activities. They also spend a few hours with a ranger-led tide pool exploration
